The Oval Office
We just delivered the Oval Office!!Ok, so most of our loads are nothing to get excited about….Wal-Mart produce, BoarsHead meats and cheeses, Sabra hummus, Volvo parts, today was different. Last night dropped our loaded trailer at the yard in Richmond. We hooked up a pre-loaded trailer at 10 pm for delivery in Atlanta at 8 am this morning. It was prop furniture. Normally I research our delivery location and learn about the particulars of the goods or business we are delivering if it is not standard. Due to me driving and the tight timeline I didn’t take the time. We had to do a driver switch half way there, I ran out my drive clock, to bed I went!! Well, we delivered to EUE/Screen Gems Studios. It is a 10 studio, 22 acre full service production studio complex. “The Hunger Games Mockingjay” – Parts 1 and 2, two films in the “Divergent” series, ” Satisfaction” on USA Network, and “Devious Maids” on Lifetime, are just a few productions that have been filmed there. What we were delivering was the set furniture and stage props of the Oval Office for the upcoming movie “Killing Reagan”, based on the book by Bill O’Reilly. Which by the way was a really fascinating story. Interesting facts about the Reagan history and family. Anyhow, it was just a neat thing to see. They were just starting to work on the set, so it was just one big open warehouse type room. We didn’t see any ‘famous’ faces, just worker bee types, but it was cool just the same!!
