Life is short.
You only live once.
Live life to its fullest.
Time is more valuable than money.
Wow…so it has been awhile since we have updated about trucking. Well that is due to the fact that we haven’t really been trucking and what little we have been doing hasn’t been anything exciting.
October is a busy month for us. You see hunting big game is a huge thing for Grant’s man side of the family. He has said to every employer he has ever worked for “it is not a question of whether or not I am going hunting, it is a question of whether I work for you when I get back”. Yes, it is that big of a deal. They have been hunting the same area with the male side of Grant’s family starting with his dad and uncle 45+ years ago. October is when we start bringing all the mental planning together. The last week of October the men head to the mountains for just over a week, camping in outfitters tents. If they are successful, then the week plus after they return is spent processing the game. This year Grant was surprised by our oldest son and his wife. For nearly a year he has been sad that neither boy would be there. Our oldest is stationed in Germany and our youngest is currently in Kuwait. The morning the guys meet at his parent’s house Grant got a great good morning suprise!
So for the last few weeks we have been off the road with hunting and processing meat! Yuppers..both Grant and Roman were successful!! Two cow elk are now processed, packaged and in the freezer!!
Now for some big news….
It will be several more weeks before we post about trucking again. Just when you think you have your future planned out, poof…things can change. Opportunities present themselves that make life have turns and twists that make it unpredictable. They also provide the chance to challenge your desicion making skills. This is exactly what life has tossed at us. We have been presented with opportunity to go over to Germany and spend several weeks with our son and daughter-in-law. Exploring several European countries and spending yet another Christmas with them. The Army made sure that we didn’t have to choose which boy to spend the holidays with as our youngest will be in Kuwait. With awesome opportunities there comes a downside. Having to say goodbye to a company we have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of and representing across America. So with a bittersweetness we have turned in our beautiful big orange truck and said a sad so long to some of the coolest people in the industry and definitely some of our most favorite Canadians!
So with life being short and desiring to live the only life here on earth we have been given to its fullest, we have chosen to make memories not money for the next several weeks. Time IS more valuable than money and spending time with your kids is priceless!!
Just an advance warning…our next several posts will be of our adventures across Europe.
