Backwards update…
Why backwards you are thinking? Cuz, just cuz. It’s different. …and cuz I can! (It’s so much saying that! 🙂 ) How is this backwards? Cuz I am starting with where we are and going to where we’ve been.
“So what’s new?”
“Oh, not much, what’s new with you? “Eh, you know, same ole, different day, different city,”
Yes, I am admitting I occasionally have conversations with myself and that is how they seem to go lately. However, when I stop and think in detail, we are still living the dream and having an adventure everyday. Some days not always a fun one, but still each day brings something new. So, what’s new?
We have a super shiny bumper, a sexy orange calendar hopeful truck, traversed across the windy south, visited the great white north, and had a blast creating mischief in Canada!
Our beautiful shiny moose bumper! That’s what they call them in Canada. 🙂
Oh how we love our super shiny bumper!!! Oh my gosh! Yes, these ‘little’ details really excite us. It’s amazing how it can make you feel on the inside when you (the truck) look good on the outside. Oooh baby! So of course we had the rest of the truck and trailer shined up and gleaming!
What was next? Why of course a photo shoot in sunny southern California cuz you know this is probably the only way I am going to make it into the centerfold of a calendar. Yes, I am now living vicariously through my truck. Oh, how things have changed.
Getting here was same…just more wind than we normally have to deal with, which made the fact that we were much heavier and slower going up the hills a blessing.
Although we were thankful for the lack of snow since we have been spoiled with mild temps except for the few days of being in the great white north. -3 with a feel like of -14 mid morning on the snow covered tundra of way north Minnesota. You know where they talk with a funny accent and their main mode of transportation is on sleds, the motorized kind!! It was way colder than we have seen in forever. Everything was frozen. To include the ships in the harbor. Getting to see the other side of Lake Superior was pretty cool. A touch of home, cuz you know that water eventually touches Michigan!
Now the other land that one could consider as the great white north is Canada. We stopped by my mom’s so she could take care of things that we cannot cross the border with, you know like pepper spray, certain food and a pitbull. Yes, they are all illegal crossing into and in Ontario.
Anyhow, up to the home base we went. It’s a mini lesson in French when you first cross from Detroit into Windsor. One sign is in English and the next one is in French. Sadly I didn’t retain anything, but it sure was giggle worthy fun trying to pronounce everything. Getting back to the yard and seeing everyone again was awesome! It has been 8 months since we have been back. They were all still smiling and made it much fun to create mischief all around! We have never seen a place where mostly everyone (the front office didn’t put up with any mischief, we got run out of there pretty fast!) was happy and having a good time with each other. We were there for Fat Tuesday, they call it Pancake Tuesday and celebrate it with a complete pancake breakfast to include bacon and fruit for everyone! What a great place! The weather was fairly nice, definitely not white or cold. Plus we got to stuff ourselves at THE best Chinese buffet in existence! Oh my gosh, the Mandarin restaurant is over the top incredible!
Other than all that, nothing really new here. We hope that all of you are finding yourselves surviving the lull of the year. You know, the third quarter blues of school or just the blah after the holidays, impatiently waiting for spring and summer!
Until the next incredibly exciting update…
