An Old Friend!
Going backwards for a post….
Our delivery before last took us to Phoenix. First time Grant had been there and this was a return visit to an area that holds many memories for me. We, Coach Read and I, took our top runners here the weekend before Thanksgiving to compete in the Nike Southwest Regional race.
This time had another special spot. After the initial eagerness to be headed to Phoenix and the possibility of visit with a friend, Grant became a smidge edgy only due to the excitement one of his bestest friends from high school had expressed over the possibility of meeting up with us and regailing me with all the antics they pulled together!! Oh and I was excited as well, which I think made him even more hesitant. Hehe. I think he might have actually been trying to plot and scheme a way of hiding.
Our delivery appointment was for 5 am. I think he thought he was safe…at least this trip. That was until she was all in for meeting us still,,,at the crack of dawn! This was the first time I had met her, however it felt as if we had been friends for some time. Actually, Grant has shared many of the stories already, so really no surprises. Just a really great time having breakfast and catching up with events of life!
Cannot wait until next time we are able to get together with Corry!!! Very much looking forward to hearing more stories!!!
